Be Here Now, Wake Up From The Dreamland Of Past And Future

No, that is no easy feat.

Where are you living? Most of our time is either spent in the past or the future.

Yes, I know, it is a popular thing to say nowadays; to be here in the present.

Let’s try out an experiment, me and you.

What is happening right now? You are reading this story, aren’t you? Or are you already distracted by a thought.

What is this thought about?

I bet the thought is either about the past or the future. For the sake of this article let’s forget about the past that has already happened, and focus on the future.

The brilliant thinker J. Krishnamurti once said:

Thinking about the future breeds fear

Let’s hold on for a moment. That is some deep thinking right there. Okay, let’s take at least 5 minutes to let that sink in. Just ponder and be with these words for a short while. I see you back in 5.

You’re back? What have you found after taking some time?

Does this hold true?

As soon as we start thinking about what possibly could happen fear sets in immediately. Not always sheer panic or all out fear responses; usually there will be subtle feelings of fear.

We have to be completely honest here. We can never know what will happen and that is a blessing for some and a curse for others. Although, I do think it is a curse for the most of us.

Unbelievable amounts of energy are expressed in our fear responses. We all know these infamous train of thoughts that, once up to speed, seems to become unstoppable.

J. Krishnamurti said:

Fear of the unknown. Why should I be, why should one be afraid of the unknown when you know nothing about it? Please inquire into it

Wow……that is so deep! I like that. Why should we be afraid of the unknown when we know nothing about it? That is straightforward and profound at the same time!

When I really let that sink in, into my mind, into my body, I experience complete freedom and courage to do anything I have always wanted to do. I sense this pure potentiality of what can be expressed or experienced.

Then, there is only this now moment and letting go of false security. What remains? What excuses are left to never do what I have always wanted to do, or to never be who I have always wanted to be?

Yes, I have to admit that I don’t know anything, and that my own thoughts about what could happen are the source of fear.

There is really nothing outside of me that evokes fear. There are only my own thoughts about any situation that are the root cause of my fear.

“What can we do about that,” you might ask?

Well, thoughts are just thoughts. They come and go. Just like clouds floating by. Don’t follow them. Don’t suppress them or attach to them. Just stay centered. Let them pass by.

The only problem is our identification with thoughts. We tend to belief that we are our thoughts. But we really only have thoughts. Just let them go and the identification lets go.

Then, we have woken up to the reality of NOW. We are no longer dreaming in the past or the future!

What are you going to do NOW?

Who are you going to be be NOW?

First of all, thank you for reading my story! I am curious to know what you think! Do you live the life you really want? Is there something in this story that resonates with you? Do you have a different view on things?

Don’t hesitate and let me know what you are thinking in a comment!

Feel free to follow if you are inspired!
